What happens if I miss the limitation period?
The court will normally dismiss the case as time-barred, even if you would otherwise have won. In limited situations you can ask the court to condone the delay under Section 5, but it is granted only for genuine, well-explained reasons.
Does sending a legal notice extend the limitation period?
Generally no — a notice does not stop the clock. However, a written acknowledgement of the debt by the other side, or a part-payment, can start a fresh limitation period under Sections 18–19.
Is this the exact deadline for my case?
Treat it as a guide. The correct article, the exact 'counted from' date, and special laws can change the period. For anything close to the deadline, confirm with an advocate immediately.
